Happy New Year! Love greetings from Pagadian City, Mindanao, Philippines.
Cornerstone Baptist Church had just celebrated her 15th Church Anniversary and Thanksgiving Sunday last December 30, 2007, and we praise the Lord for the good result. There were 200 in attendance, 25 first time visitors, and 15 souls got saved. The celebration was followed by a church potluck arty and thank God for His sufficient grace, things were done well and efficiently.
The Church worship was started by the reading of church ministry accomplishments report by Miss Shielamae Sabado, Church Secretary. The report had covered the year 1992 down to the December 30, 2007. The church choir also having sang 6 songs and 2 songs from our church soloists, and one hour preaching of God's Word, Our Anniversary theme was: CHRISTIANS, PRESS ON! and that would be our Church whole year theme.
Church History:
1. 1992-2007 - 13 churches was started and 3 were organized into a local church.
2. 13 Pastors were trained and raised up in our church, and they are now in the field
3.$2,000 - mission budget for the 2007 for local and foreign missionaries (11 local Pastors and 3 for foreign Mission.)
4. 2 Pastors will start a pioneering work on January 2008.
5. 180 people are the first time visitors in 52 Sundays of 2007 in our church services.
6. 320 savead and baptized 1992-2007.
7. 5 Bible studies and discipleship a week.
8. 1 Youth camp and a church missions Conference every year.
9. 2 Evangelistic crusades in 2007.
10. One Mission outreach within the City proper.
11. 5 Good News Classes for Children in the city.
12. 500 people got saved every year in our church ministries.
Prayer requests:
PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2008
1. $200 - Bible Seminary budget for 2008 in 10 students.
2. $2,500 - for Pastors and Missionary Support.
3. $5,000 - Church building completion, including the roofing.
4. $1, 200 - Radio Program in one year. (we pray for sponsor)
5. $10,000 - Proposed Radio Station in the church, and be heard by more than 20,000 people every day.
6. BMP Youth Camp on May 2007. Food budget - $2,000 (feed- 350 Young people)
7. Youth Camp Site. $5,000 (to purchase 1,000 square meters of land)
8. Additional family support $200 for 2008.
9. Overhead Projector.
10. One Big tent for the Youth Camp of 300 people capacity.
11. church generator
12. Church staff budget for 2008 - $500 a year.
13. $2,000 - Church Missions Conference on December.
14. To open a grade 1 to 6 grades.
15. School permit from Department of Education can be released this year.
