Christmas was a blessed season. The college choir presented the musical, "Emmanuel, Celebrating Heaven's Child", and sang at local shopping malls and businesses in Bangalore. The Junior Church delighted us with "The Not So Silent Night" Christmas Pageant, and the Young Adults of the church performed, "He gave His life that we Might Live." Many doors ere opened to share the Gospel with visitors who attended the programs and souls were saved. The Lord certainly gave us many reasons to rejoice in His goodness this Christmas season.
Thirty-six new dining hall tables are now in use in the dining hall. We thank the Lord for all who had a part inhelping us purchase these tables. Thank you for your generous support. There is still a need for 400 chairs so that the students can sit down to eat their meals in the dining hall. Each chair costs $15.00. Please pray for the Lord to meet this need.
A Spiritual Leadership Seminar was held last November. Pastor Bobby Herrell, (Cornerstone Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas) and 13 members of his church visited the Bible College. They taught classes on soul winning, spiritual gifts, children's ministry, Christian hospitality, and many other exciting topics. The students were challenged and encouraged to become bolder witnesses for Christ, and to reach their full potential for God. We were all blessed by our Texan friend's generosity and love for the ministry. We look forward to their next visit in November 2008.
Praise the Lord for new churches planted in Myanmar in 2007. Berean graduates, whom the college supports, have established a total of eighteen churches in Myanmar. The Lord is leading us to plant churches in the states of Tripura and Meghalaya. Please pray for God to use our graduates as pastors in these areas of India.
Dr. Edwin Chelli conducted evangelistic meetings in Andhra Pradesh in January 2008. Four new churches were planted by Pastor Srinivasaraju in staunch Brahman Hindu areas of A.P. The Lord blessed the evangelistic meetings; over 40 people professed faith in Christ and were baptized. Praise the Lord for his goodness.
Please pray for Graduation on March 6, 2008. The pastor's conference will be held on March 4th and 5th. Pray for many national Indian pastors to attend the meetings and be enriched by the preaching of God's Word.
Please pray for the Lord to restore the health of my mother, Mrs. Meera Chelli. She was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery on January 15th at the University of Iowa Hospitals.
